Ingredients (for 4 People)

  • 1 packet (175 g) Exquisa Roasted Onion
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • curry
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1-2 tomatoes
  • 2-3 leaves iceberg lettuce
  • 2 medium gherkins (jar)
  • 4 ciabatta rolls
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil
  • 500 g minced beef
  • sweet pepper
  • garlic powder
  • coarse pepper to garnish

Preparation

  • Stir the Exquisa fried onion with the milk until smooth. Season with curry, salt and pepper. Wash the tomatoes and cut into thin slices. Wash, clean and roughly chop the lettuce. Cut the gherkins lengthwise into thin slices. Cut the rolls in half horizontally.
  • Heat 1 tsp vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry 4 roll halves in it for 1-2 minutes on the cut side. Remove and set aside. Add the rest of the oil to the pan, fry the remaining buns and set aside.
  • Season the mince with salt, pepper, sweet paprika and garlic powder and form into 4 equal-sized balls. Place on a hot griddle on the barbecue. Immediately flatten patties with a spatula and grill for about 2 minutes on both sides. Remove the patties.
  • Spread the bottom halves of the buns with half of the Exquisa fried onion dip. Top with lettuce leaves, patties, tomato and cucumber slices. Finish with the remaining Exquisa fried onion dip. Sprinkle with coarse pepper and place top halves of bun on top. Serve with potato wedges, grilled vegetable skewers or coleslaw. Tip: The smashed burger patties can also be fried in a hot cast-iron pan. Add the balls of minced meat to the hot pan, immediately flatten with a spatula and fry for 3-4 minutes, turning.
